Outcome Mapping Training Arusha

Course Objectives
The overall course objective is to equip participants with necessary skills, knowledge and attitude for doing Outcome Mapping as a new approach to Designing, Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning for development programs and organizations.


Course Content
- Introduction to Outcome Mapping Approach

- Intentional Design in OM (Boundary partners, Outcome Challenge, Progress Markers, Strategy Maps)

- Outcome and Performance Monitoring in OM

- Outcome Mapping Monitoring Tools (Outcome Journal, Strategy Journal and Performance Journal)

- Evaluation Planning in Outcome Mapping and Outcome Harvesting

- Integrating OM to logframe approach


Learning Outcome
- By the end of the course participants will be able to:

- Describe Outcome Mapping (OM) approach and its uniqueness compared to other Participatory Monitoring and Evaluation approaches

- Describe Intentional Design in Outcome mapping

- Identify boundary partners (BPs) and develop Outcome Challenges

- Develop progress markers and strategy maps for boundary partners (BP)

- Describe and develop Outcome Mapping monitoring tools (Outcome Journal, Strategy Journal and Performance Journal) using a case study

- Describe how to conduct evaluation using Outcome Mapping approach (Outcome harvesting)

- Integrate Outcome Mapping to logframe approach

Target Group
People with experience in M&E, people who and are doing and leading M&E processes in their organization, donors and Consultants in M&E who would like to try new approaches of doing M&E and especially for complex programs/projects. This course also targets those working in complex programs/environments where traditional M&E has not been effective.
