2- Day Theory of Change Intensive Workshop

oin evaluation and Theory of Change experts from ActKnowledge, Helene Clark, Dana Taplin, and David Colby as they guide participants through an in-depth experience of using Theory of Change. This interactive and hands-on, participatory session will teach participants essential tools and strategies to incorporate ToC on an on-going basis.

We will address advanced topics in ToC and offer practical tips and lead participants through facilitation role-plays which will enable you to more effectively implement ToC into your project planning and implementation. Participants will also come away with a real-world understanding as to how to use ToC in monitoring and evaluation efforts and how to adjust programming to be more effective based on the lessons learned from your Theory of Change mapping.

ActKnowledge will lead a discussion comparing ToC with other logic and evaluation models, as well as engage in a critical dialogue about when it’s best to facilitate a ToC internally and when it’s time to call in the experts to help your organization navigate especially turbulent waters.

This engaging and participatory Intensive will include lectures, discussions, group activities and break-out sessions and model ToC mapping sessions all facilitated by renowned ToC and evaluation experts Helene Clark, Dana Taplin and David Colby from ActKnowledge.

Day 1:
Day one will include interactive discussions about effective incorporation of ToC into all levels of organizational and programmatic planning, implementation, monitoring and evaluation; comparative analysis of various evaluation and logic models, and in-depth conversations probing advanced topics in ToC as well as how to overcome obstacles and increase practical ToC application.

Day 2:
Day two will center on group work and culminate in ToC Mapping Role plays to help all participants become skilled ToC Facilitators within their own organizations. The Intensive will wrap up with an opportunity for reflection and analysis, as well as ways for further engagement and sharing between ActKnowledge staff and fellow Intensive participants.

This 2-day intensive is ideal for evaluators and program professionals who already have an understanding of Theory of Change as a methodology, but who are looking for deeper understanding and more ways to implement and take advantage of what it has to offer.
