Summary: A recording of a webinar given in November 2012. With support from the International Development Research Centre, Canada, the International Institute for Rural Reconstruction has recently published a book exploring the use of OM in East Africa. The book contains details of a survey on the understanding and use of the methodology and a review of a series of experiences of applying OM in the region in sectors such as climate change, natural resource management, livestock health and value chain systems among others. In addition to highlighting the features of how these different project have adapted OM to the East Africa context, the webinar will also focus on several issues arising from this work, including:
- Access to OM training,
- Understanding and using OM concepts and terminology;
- Integrating OM with other M & E approaches, and
- Institutional alignment to accepting, applying and utilizing OM.
