This is a 6-day intensive course delivered in English, open to applicants of any country and background; it gives 4 credits (European Credit Transfer System). Enrollment fee is 1,500 Euro. Scholarships are available for applicants from developing countries.
The Course begins with an overview of the policy process and the models and the issues arising in design and implementation. It looks at Poverty Reduction Strategies (PRS) in developing countries to provide examples of how, in planning, monitoring and evaluation we confront the core issues of policy-making. The course covers the tools available for monitoring and evaluating policy outcomes in different contexts and will address trust, accountability, transparency and commitment. The course will review some of the recently emerging approaches to M&E with a particular focus on Outcome Mapping as a method for managing the complexity inherent in policy processes.
