Asian Evaluation Week

2017 Asian Evaluation Week (AEW), co-sponsored by the People’s Republic of China, Ministry of Finance Asia-Pacific Finance and Development Institute and ADB\'s Independent Evaluation Department, will be held from 4 to 8 September 2017 in Hangzhou, People’s Republic of China.

The AEW is the key knowledge sharing event on evaluation in Asia and started in 2016 in Xi’an, China. The inaugural AEW was attended by government officials, development partners, and evaluation experts from Asia and across the world and exchanged evaluation experiences on a wide range of topics, expressing buy-ins on AEW as a relevant forum in promoting partnerships and advancing the evaluation work in Asia.

Theme
The theme of the 2017 AEW is “Evaluation for Policymaking.” with special focus on inclusive growth. The AEW will demonstrate how evaluation findings can help or get into the policy making process, the practices and approaches that support this, and examples of influential evaluations that showcase how evaluation findings support policies.

Objectives
The AEW objectives are as follows:

To provide a venue for knowledge sharing on the latest and cutting edge ideas on evaluation within Asia, and between Asia and other regions, such as Africa and Latin America.
To enable countries to share experiences on their evaluation works, and to gain knowledge on how to manage and use evaluation findings and results.
To allow experts and development partners to showcase progress in their evaluation works, and recent practices on evaluation.
To increase awareness on the use and role of evaluation in development effectiveness.
